Round-Top-Chamber-officeRound Top proclaims itself “the smallest incorporated town in the Lone Star State.” It’s even prouder of its historic bed and breakfast inns, antiques shops, two excellent historic restorations, and a renowned institute that attracts some of the best musical talent from around the world. All tucked in a picturesque setting overflowing with small town charm and friendliness.

Attractions

Round Top Family Library. Housed in a 1925 church building, this library serves as the public library for Round Top. It also features the Bybee Texas Heritage Collection with exhibits about the early settlers of the area. 206 West Mill St.

Round Top Festival Institute.  The Institute is the brainchild of noted pianist James Dick. This center serves as a training ground every summer for serious music students from around the world, selected to live and study here under the direction of a world class faculty. Their work has brought universal recognition including a 13-hour series recorded and distributed through National Public Radio. The Institutes’s Festival Concert Hall is a grand structure constructed of limestone seating 1,000 guests. Between concerts, the hall is open for guided tours along with a number of historic buildings which have been moved to the 200-acre campus. 248 Jaster Rd.

 Festivals

APRIL and OCTOBER:
Antiques Week. While Round Tip may be petite in terms of population, this community packs a wallup when it comes to drawing vacationers, especially during “Antiques Week,” traditionally scheduled for the first full weekend in April (although this can vary with the timing of Easter) and October. During Antiques Week, about 35 antiques shows dot the countryside featuring thousands of vendors and tens of thousands of shoppers from across the country.

JUNE:
Round Top Music Festival. Each June and July, the Round Top Festival Institute presents a series of concerts by the students of the program who come from around the world to study under world-class music instructors. Festival Concert Hall, 248 Jaster Rd.

JULY:
Fourth of July Celebration. Tiny Round Top is known for this celebration which is the longest-running July 4th events in Texas. The parade through town always draws thousands of visitors. Downtown Round Top.
