Elgin, Texas: Elgin Christmas Tree Farm
Don’t let the name of this pumpkin patch fool you: it might be located in the middle of an enormous Christmas tree farm, but you’ll find plenty of fall fun here!
Located just outside the central Texas city of Elgin, the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm is open during October for the annual fall fun event with some great photo opportunities, not only to grab a fall photo but to think ahead for a family holiday shot, which we’ve done several years at the farm.
The Elgin Christmas Tree Farm not only has plenty of pumpkin-themed fun but also multiple mazes…
a dog-friendly hayride…
resident farm animals (that our dogs really enjoyed greeting!)…

Tips for Visiting a Dog-Friendly Pumpkin Patch
- Consider a visit on off days. We always visit the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm on a weekday rather than the busier Saturdays–but be prepared for children’s outings during the weekdays. If your dog does not do well around children, please reconsider your visit.
- Keep your dog on a fixed leash, not a retractable leash.
- Pick up after your dog. Always, always, always.
- Do not let your dog urinate near pumpkins. If he does, purchase the pumpkin.
- Bring water and a collapsible bowl for your dog to use.
- Have fun and take a lot of photos! The photos we have taken through the years at the pumpkin patch are some of our most treasured.
